Taking place in England the owners of the yard slowly kept adding sections to the contraption so when the squirrel learned one section and got the nuts, they’d add another section. It took over 2 weeks to get to the final product you see in the video.

My friend insists Jodie Whittaker is the Fifteenth Doctor, but everything I see on Tumblr refers to her as the Thirteenth. Can you explain this to me?

okay these are all the doctors in chronological order in the current canon

image

everything was normal until John Hurt, who was a secret incarnation of The Doctor introduced retroactively in 2013

this incarnation didn’t call himself The Doctor during his life, because he didn’t feel like he lived up to the title

so despite Christopher Eccleston being the 10th incarnation of the Doctor, he was still referred to as The 9th Doctor

THEN

during one of David Tennant’s episodes, he gets shot by a dalek for the first time ever and is forced to regenerate, but decides not to change his face by siphoning the regeneration energy into his own disembodied hand which is a fucking long story

the short of it is that David Tennant regenerated into himself

so

David Tennant, known as the 10th Doctor, was actually the 11th and 12th incarnations of The Doctor, but was still known as the 10th Doctor for his whole tenure

so now we’re on Jodie Whittaker right

who

is known as the 13th doctor, because John Hurt wasn’t called The Doctor and David Tennant was still called the 10th Doctor even when he was the 11th and 12th

but technically she is the 15th incarnation of The Doctor and could just as easily be called the 15th Doctor

PUT SIMPLY,,,,,,,,,,,,

Jodie Whittaker plays the 15th incarnation of The Doctor, who has the 14th unique face of The Doctor, but is called the 13th Doctor because John Hurt and the David Tennant Two: The Re-Tennanting don’t count in the number order

i know it’s silly

but you’re both right

Reblogging in support of the perfectly Doctor Who answer of “you’re both right”, as well as the verb “re-tennanting”, which I look forward to seeing in the Oxford English dictionary very soon.

Oh

RE-TENNANTING

“The short of it is that David Tennant regenerated into himself”

I love that this implies that David Tennant himself is a time lord

Bruce deflates in valleyed pauses, a shoulder alert while the other rests. Fuzzy colours under screwed eyelids, heavy head against soft, practicing breaths till they stop. Sleep comes in clogged brakes, hitting pavement of dreams sometimes hard. He rests with resented suspicion in his bones.

Natasha unwinds in evened nail beds, poised even as her feet tangle in sheets. Cobwebs over mirrored memories, hands grounded to still sides, trained decluttering till there is no thought left. Sleep enters in syrupy red outlines, enveloping her present till there is safety. She rests with comforting betrayal under her lashes.

Clint lays out on open terrace floors, weary callouses drumming against thin air. Swinging ropes link the stars, arms tucked to cushion a muddled brain, experimenting wishes of runaway dreams till they disappear. Sleep drapes over in white noise, an empty applause that drowns out a heavy laughter of gods. He rests with scabbed glory over his palms.

Thor reclines against stony silence, twisted familiar words balancing his neck. Defaced ceilings sing decayed lullabies, ankles crossed in learnt restraint, evaluating the distance between the next nightmare till it disappoints. Sleep pulls on him in branches of familiar touch, a false promise that morphs reality under illusion of blood. He rests with unasked fate beating under his ribs.

Steve falls onto spaces between worlds, lungs inhaling an air too new. Alarms ring before setting, counted breaths to keep warm, struggling in jerky motion to escape the ocean till loss faded into white. Sleep drags him under in ticking hands of changing time, a new reality waiting to challenge when broken. He rests with resigned stubbornness sealed between his brows.

Tony shuts down in pushed back holds, cheek digging into plans for an eluding peace. Created friends relate hints of normalcy, lights blotting out the darkness beneath machine beating, catching each breath as it leaves him in tradition till none matter more. Sleep drugs him in infused vows of pretense, a formidable force of want battling can’t. He rests with forced regulation holding up his spine.

For all that they conquer, some they don’t. For all that they run, rest they won’t. Until they must. Until they do.

I need families to stop proclaiming that they always knew the kids would fail/disappoint/land in trouble. No you didn’t. You presumed it and then decided to do (or ignore) everything based on that presumption. The kids never had a chance with you and whatever result you’re seeing is based on how you’ve led events to consequence.

So, letting people be who they want to be is a good thing. That’s shocking I tell you, just shocking. All I want to know is, how much time and money went into this research when you could’ve just asked trans folks how they felt for free

okay, A: they did ask. they did listen. like… I don’t wanna exaggerate here but “asking trans kids how they feel” is literally the entire study:

“children (9–14 years old) and their parents completed measurements of depression and anxiety (n = 63 transgender children, n = 63 controls, n = 38 siblings). Children (6–14 years old; n = 116 transgender children, n = 122 controls, n = 72 siblings) also reported on their self-worth”

and B: this isn’t the kind of study researchers do because “oh gosh we just aren’t really sure yet, we really just don’t know”, they do it because cis people have been sitting on their asses for decades ignoring anything that’s not an Official Scientific Study, so they said “okay fuck you, here’s the study, you’re wrong, now do something helpful or shut the hell up”

#Thank you #I’m super over this smug ‘yeah we knew that’ response to studies #I mean I get the impulse to go ’…yes and water is wet thanks captain obvious’ #But the thing is that you *need* this kind of hard data in order to act on it #Which is actually a good thing #BC ‘we don’t need no stinkin science’ policies based on ‘we just Know This ok don’t ask for our data just shut up and do it’ #Is how you get anti choice laws based in pseudoscience and religious belief #And climate change not being addressed in law and policy #Besides. Just think how satisfying it is to throw hard data in some asshole’s face to counter their claims.

Scientist: Treating trans people like people is the way to make them happy.
Cis Person: Yeah but…………how do we KNOW?
Scientist: *sighs* can I have a grant to study it?
Cis Person: Sure.
Scientist: Hey, Trans Person, would you be happier if people treated you like people?
Trans Person: Of course.
Scientists:

Specifically, this study can now be used in medical offices and courtrooms. A trans kid’s parent can take this study to their bigoted local doctor and say “see, this is why you should either treat my kid or give us a referral to a doctor who will.” Or this can be taken into various legal proceedings about name changes, birth certificate changes/corrections, and custody hearings where it becomes necessary to prove to a judge that yes, helping the kid transition (and perhaps leaving the kid with the parent/guardian who is willing to help) is what is best for the kid.

These kinds of studies are exactly what we want, folks. Don’t knock it just because it’s something you already knew.

These kinds of studies are exactly what we want, folks. Don’t knock it just because it’s something you already knew.

We already knowed it, we just had to prove it – don’t knock the proof.
